If they could just decide what style of music they want to create, then Snakes-n-Angels would be well on their way to bettering their career. Opening
up album 'Scenes From a 100 Acre Wood' with a female-fronted 80's-tasting pop
rocker "Love's Hard to Find," then following it with a heavier swingin' tune
dubbed "Caveman" in which both vocalists (male and female) share the singing
duties contrasts a bit too much. It's almost as if the band takes on a new
form with each song. I don't think they can decide because they play each
style so well. Frontwoman Nannette carries her voice well; she's got a
soulful almost country sound, while her male counterpart JC croons with a
rough hard rocker set of pipes. Unlikely pairing, but the contrast
complements perfectly. Snakes-n-Angels have produced quite an album with
quite a mix of sounds and styles. Very enjoyable, especially the tracks
with Nannette leading the way.
