Artist: Delbert McClinton (
Title: Live
Label: New West Records (
Genre: Blues/Rock, Americana, Country, Modern Electric Blues, Honky-Tonk
Format: (2 CDs)

Delbert McClinton has come storming back into the collective music consciousness of the blues and country world once again with a new live album.

With 19 tracks filling up two discs, McClinton makes his way through his powerfully emotive blues-country-rock catalog giving the audience the best of the best. Delbert can sing a tune like no other. With his whiskey soaked gruffness, which typifies the blues, he gets plenty of juice from his red-hot band and keeps the audience on a steady roll with each song he performs.

This is an energized performance by Delbert; a live album does not get much better than this. To appreciate what he does, you have to have a penchant for the blues along with all the other styles that come through in each song.

Along with hearing the music I always can smell and taste the essence of a blues and honky-tonk juke joint very clear when I listen to his music, the country influence around the fringes is apparent as well. I think the combination of all the persuasions he draws from is what makes his music so appealing. The ability to reach into several audiences has always been the key to success for this artist. Never is it all more apparent than on this album.I loved every bit of this set and you will to if you know what Delbert McClinton is all about.
