Vernon Neilly's experience in the music industry spans over 30 years
encompassing being an acclaimed artist, legendary producer/performer
and most recently record label executive for Boosweet Records.
Vernon has performed with some of the most notable names in music, from two time Grammy nominee
Charles Wright, to legendary Blues artists Charles "Merry Christmas"
Brown and Peewee Crayton, to Def Jam Records' Warren G.
Recently, Vernon released his new CD, "Kaleidescope," to critical acclaim. Two singles
from the album "Baby Come Back" & "In Memory Of You" have charted at
#6 on MP3.com's Contemporary Urban Chart, at times topping such
multi-platinum artist's such as, Surface, Gregory Abbott, and Glady's
Knight and the Pips to mention a few!
And Vernon has not shied away from taking positions on the controversial issues surrounding the music industry, especially with respect to the mp3 format and artists' careers (major vs. indie). Black Hole had a chance to speak to Mr. Neilly after the Thanksgiving weekend.
