For your car-Empeg Car

Where you listen to digital music is generally determined by where you live and work. If you commute by bus or train, then you are likely to listen on a portable player. However, most people spend the majority of commute time in a car, and that is where your eyes can focus on the road and your ears can focus on the music. It is for this reason that there are more digital music players for the car than the home. People are mobile, and they need the enjoyment of music while sitting in traffic or zooming along the highway. There are many formats and options so study them all to find which one fits your needs.

Step 1: What is Empeg Car?
Empeg Car was the first purely digital music player made for the car. It is a Linux-based system with an AM/FM tuner, hard drive, remote control, and a cool display resembling a techno dance floor. It was designed by a lighting display professional to move with the music, and it will keep you occupied for those late night waiting sessions.

Step 2: Built to hold lots of tunes
The entry-level player ships with a 6-gigabyte laptop hard drive to hold 100 hours of music, but you can upgrade to a dual 18-gig model for those really long road trips. The player is standard sized, meaning it will fit in existing dashboard slots. The unit slides out for easy access, which is important because you must take the player out to put more music on it.

Step 3: Music to go
Imagine how cool it would be to take your entire music collection with you to enjoy while driving to a party, and then pop out the player and plug it into the party's stereo for everyone to enjoy. This is reality with the Empeg car. The player has an AC adapter and phono plugs to connect directly with any stereo system. In addition, you can connect to any computer via the USB, ethernet, or parallel connectors in the back.

Step 4: The power of software
The player software gives you infinite programming capability. Regular playlists and shuffle features are available, but much more is available which I have not seen anywhere else. If you have tracks that are constantly skipped, you can have the player take them off automatically. If there are songs you have not heard in a while, you can have the player put them into the top of your playlist rotation.

Step 5: Features at a price
The Empeg car is a revolutionary product, and it is already in its second generation. However, like most things this amazing, it comes at a price. The entry-level model is $1199 with the 36-gig version coming in with a price of $1949. Be sure to figure in installation as well. You can buy all of this at www.empeg.com.
