The cavalcade of radio stations you will discover in your quest for perfect musical entertainment will bring up a new problem. How are you going to keep track of all of the new stations you discover? This section will show you how to keep track of all the great finds for your online listening pleasure.
Steps 1: Same concept-different steps
The way you store your stations will depend on what program you are using to find and listen to your stations. This section will cover the major players in the online radio world, but this tutorial will explain saving principles.
Step 2: Find the right area to bookmark
When you find your station, you will most likely be coming in from the station's main website. Some websites force you to listen from here, in which case you should bookmark this page by clicking on "Favorites / Add to favorites" (in IE 5.0).
Step 3: Go directly to the stream
Other stations allow you to go directly to the stream without entering the main page. When you are listening to a station that has a separate page for streaming, you can bookmark that site. Your streaming player will automatically launch and you can begin listening.
Step 4: Missing the extra info
The downside of linking directly to the stream is that you will miss the added information a station can give such as the name of the track that is playing and artist. By having the station's home page up, you can view this information at a glance.
