Kind of a cool synthesis between '80s new wave ala Depeche Mode and '90s
dance music (called "electronic body music" in this here press pack, so I
guess that's what it must be), keyboard leads and vocals with swirling
crescendos of feedback, manipulated voice samples taken from movies and news
reels, and stock dance floor rhythm tracks. The best thing about the disc is
the best thing about most electronic music nowadays-recording quality. Where
early techno music fell flat and crappy, even the simplest electronic music
can have layers and echoes and superb liquid effects and be literally
hundreds of tracks deep, which is definitely the case and the strength of
this disc. The music just oozes its way out of the background to fill a
room, bringing an atmosphere that's simultaneously neodisco and futuristic
piano bar along with it.
