Yellow Dog Contracts Union breaking tactics against the American Federation of Musicians (AFM)
Over the past several months, the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) has received complaints from members working in the Videogame, Motion Picture, and TV Film industries that studios, producers, agents and others have attempted to impose, as a condition of employment in their productions, contract terms that would operate to prohibit non-members from joining the AFM and would require current AFM members to withdraw from membership and also promise not to re-join or work with AFM members prior to completion of a production. In response to such complaints, AFM President Ray Hair issued a letter on March 28, 2012 to persons and firms engaged in the above-referenced industries.
