中区蓝调咖啡吧将会在5月25日到27日举办第二届北京蓝调音乐节。此次音乐节将会有23位来自国内外的布鲁斯乐手演出，他们的表演将会涵盖各种布鲁斯流派。在过去的两年间中区蓝调咖啡吧已成为一个主要的北京音乐平台，而他们举办的北京蓝调音乐节也旨在带给中国乐迷最纯粹的布鲁斯音乐。2012年北京蓝调音乐节将会成为国内布鲁斯音乐的盛典。
The CD Blues Bar& Café is hosting its second annual Beijing Blues Festival!
Throughout the last 2 years the CD Blues Bar & Café has become the primary platform roots music in Beijing. Long-time blues advocate, Zhang "Big John" Ling has the used the space to cultivate a fun and genuine blues experience. He hosts a weekly live blues karaoke night and, in just a few years, has managed to make a breeding ground of blues talent.
While China has been quick to embrace rock and roll, rap music and jazz the origin of all these music forms remains unfamiliar to most citizens. The goal of the Beijing Blues Festival is to demystify the blues; to display a range of blues styles and living artists in and out of Asia and to support the growing community of blues lovers and players.
The Beijing Blues Festival 2012 will feature 23 international and local acts covering a whole spectrum of blues music - from country blues to funk to rockabilly. It will be celebration of the blossoming blues traditions taking place around Asia and will showcase many outstanding international and local artists. Weekend performances include Shun Kikuta and Funky—longtime players for blues legends KoKo Taylor, Junior Wells and James Cotton and star local acts such as Hao Ge and Big Johns Blues Band with guest star Cuijian.
The event will start the night of Friday, May 25th and go until the wee hours of Sunday, May 27th. The Festival will be held at two venues; our own CD Blues Bar & Café and we will also kick-off the opening celebration of C8B Joy Star Arts Center near 798 Art District. We are expecting 1,000-2,000 visitors throughout the 3-day period.
