Russell Kibbee Archive of Articles | Email
Russell Kibbee has spent most of his career using technology in financial applications. He began at GT Capital Management in San Francisco operating both mutual funds and pension funds with the help of mainframe computers. He then moved to Mitsubishi Bank where he specialized in operating emerging market accounts staying in close contact with clients worldwide utilizing the (then) cutting-edge technology of email. He moved to New York in 1995 and began working at Goldman Sachs in the equity research department specializing in the delivery of equity research via the Internet.
He then moved to the international sales and trading floor where he was responsible for new technology solutions for both the Japanese and Latin American sales desks. He left in 1997 with his boss to form an investment bank and hedge fund in the South Pacific. While in New Zealand he spearheaded and incorporated the use of the internet into a global virtual office model while handling daily operations for the fund. Later, in Suva, Fiji he worked closely with government officials, top management of companies, and his network of global partners in building a foundation for a solid financial service company in an area where none existed. He currently resides in Los Angeles to take full advantage of the geographical proximity to both Silicon Valley and Hollywood. -------------------------------------------------------
